Benton Harbor residents are being urged to form more block clubs in their communities.

The city’s deputy director of police services says you do not have to own a home to start or re-activate block clubs.

Unlike Benton Harbor’s block clubs in the past, the city’s new initiative will not simply focus on six historic districts.

That is according to our reporting partners at the Herald Palladium.

A meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall for residents to hear the new block club plan.
