A 4-month-old girl spirited away during a courthouse scuffle after a custody hearing has been found and returned to her father.
Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said Saturday that Evelyn Daniel was located safe. She did not give any more details.
The girl was taken by someone Thursday from Wayne County Juvenile Court when a scuffle involving security guards and relatives of her father and recently slain mother broke out. A judge had given custody to her father, Damon Daniel.
Daniel shot and killed his fiance, 26-year-old Ebony Gaines, Aug. 12 in the couple's Dearborn home, west of Detroit.
Prosecutors ruled Gaines was slain in self-defense and announced Monday that Daniel would not be charged with homicide.
