Michigan residents will not have to pay some of the lesser driving-offense fines beginning Monday.
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson praised the elimination of what she calls “driver responsibility fees” today.
Those fees encompass $150 and $200 tickets for things such as having more than one license, or failing to show a proof of insurance.
Other driver responsibility fees for more serious offenses, including those that are alcohol or drug related, remain in place.
