A Michigan man is dead after he crashed his ultralight airplane into a field Wednesday morning.
The 63-year-old Bay County pilot, whose name is being withheld until his family is notified, took off from an airport in Pinconning at around 6 a.m.
Police say the plane crashed within minutes, after it lost power over Interstate 75.
Authorities also say the Federal Aviation Administration will not be inestigating, because the aircraft was lightweight and homemade.
