Michigan House Judiciary Committee discusses bath salts regulation

The Michigan House Judiciary Committee held a special meeting today to address stepping up regulation of dangerous designer drugs such as K2 and bath salts.

Two bills are being discussed that will give law enforcement and the department of community health more authority in removing these drugs from store shelves.

Congressman Walsh says people are dying from these drugs. He says people think the drugs sound innocent, but they are finding out how horrible they really are.

"What we are hoping to do is to give the community health department the ability to go in quickly,” he said. “Even on the best of days it can take us a month or two to pass a law and that's too slow.”
