Members of the Green Party of Michigan will gather this weekend at Central Michigan University to nominate candidates for president as well as state and local offices.
The three Green Party presidential contenders will speak by conference video to the convention Saturday afternoon. A presidential straw poll will be conducted later Saturday and the results will be announced Sunday.
The straw poll will guide which candidate Michigan delegates support at the party's July 12-15 national convention in Baltimore.
Those running for the Green Party presidential nomination are
Jill Stein, a physician and environmental health advocate from Massachusetts; Kent Mesplay, an air quality inspector from California; and comedienne Roseanne Barr of California.
