Northern Michigan is expected to see snow and southern Michigan likely will see additional flooding as storms move across the Midwest.

The National Weather Service in Marquette says snow in the Upper Peninsula is expected around midday Thursday and into Friday. By the time the storm ends, forecasters say Marquette County could see 7 to 11 inches. In higher elevations in the Upper Peninsula, up to 14 inches is forecast.

Parts of the northern Lower Peninsula will get a mix of snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain. Minor snow accumulation is expected in most places.

Flood watches are in effect through Friday for much of the central and southern Lower Peninsula. Some road flooding began Wednesday.

Heavy rain fell in southeastern Michigan. Freezing rain is expected in West Michigan.
