New statistics raise bittersweet feelings about the economic recovery in Indiana and Michigan.
247WallStreet.com has released a list of the states that show the most signs of recovery from the recession.
Topping that list is the Wolverine State.
Unemployment in Michigan has fallen 5.1 percent since the peak of the depression. Unfortunately it still stands at 9.1 percent, the 6th highest in the nation.
There is more good news though - Michigan had the 6th highest GDP growth in 2011.
Moving to the Hoosier State, Indiana ranks 7th in terms of economic recovery with unemployment declining 2.8 percent. It currently stands at 8 percent, the 21st highest rate in the country.
Indiana also has the 25th highest GDP growth for 2011.
New Jersey shows the fewest signs of economic recovery.
