GRAND BLANC, Mich. A priest at a Flint-area parish and school plans to enter a program that assists clergy as authorities investigate allegations he inappropriately touched two children.
The Flint Journal reports the Rev. Ken Coughlin says in a letter posted online and in a parish bulletin that he's innocent and entering the assessment program. He was placed on administrative leave earlier this year by the Catholic Diocese of Lansing.
Holy Family Catholic School, Church of the Holy Family in Grand Blanc and the diocese are cooperating with the investigation. Coughlin is accused of touching two students on their hands and legs. Coughlin's lawyer Frank Manley says Coughlin wasn't involved in any criminal activity.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton says he's reviewing the case before he will decide whether to bring charges.
