Michigan lawmakers want boaters BAC limit dropped to .08

Michigan lawmakers want to lower the blood alcohol level for boaters and snowmobilers.

The move stems from a 2005 tragedy when a 7-year-old boy was killed on Donnell Lake in Cass County. A boater ran over the tube he was riding on but officials couldn't arrest him for drunken driving because he was under the legal limit.

The current legal BAC is point .10 but state reps Matt Lori and Dave Pagel want that changed to .08 like it is for automobile drivers.
