A group of Michigan lawmakers donned their business suits, shark-ware, tank tops and thermal underwear as they took the polar plunge for charity on Thursday.

According to WSJM radio, a huge pool was set up on the Statehouse lawn in downtown Lansing for the lawmakers and any daring participants to take the icy dip.

Several lawmakers jumped in the 34 degree water as part of the effort to increase support and awareness for the Special Olympics.

The ice cold dive was worth it, the state legislators raked in $30,000 in donations.
