A Michigan family hopes an electronic billboard along Interstate 75 will help find a kidney donor.

Jerry Millen of Livingston County's Hartland Township is seeking a potential donor on behalf of Virginia Millen, his mother. The message is to run for a week starting Monday near the northbound exit to 12 Mile Road in the Detroit suburb of Madison Heights.

It will feature 73-year-old Virginia Millen, her grandson and twin granddaughters, along with contact information for potential donors with O blood type.

Without a match, Jerry Millen tells the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell his mother is weeks away from kidney dialysis.

Even if a match can't be found with the billboard, Jerry Millen says he hopes it raises awareness of the need for kidney donations.
