Michigan State University is aiming to make it easier for people to buy bikes that have been donated or impounded and get them fixed up.

The East Lansing school recently announced that MSU Bikes now is a part of its MSU Surplus/Recycling operations instead of the MSU Physical Plant.

The MSU Bikes Service Center and Surplus/Recycling both previously sold bikes that were impounded on campus or donated to the university. Bikes sold at the Service Center shop were repaired and refurbished, while those sold by Surplus/Recycling weren't.

Now, all bikes sold by the school can be fixed up. And there are plans in the works for a second bike shop at the school's Surplus Store/Recycling Center.
