An infantry battalion from the Michigan National Guard has returned home after a year in Afghanistan.

About 80 soldiers from the 125th Battalion arrived Sunday morning at Capital City Airport near Lansing.

Two-year-old Danny and 4-year-old Jimmy Huck were on hand to welcome home their father, Jimmy Huck IV. The boys smiled as they posed in the parking lot with their father, duffel bag on his shoulder.

The unit was involved in security missions and assisted the Afghan police.

The battalion is based in Flint and has companies in Detroit, Alpena, Wyoming, Big Rapids and Bay City.
