NILES There were some scary moments early Monday morning for a man stuck in a ravine until neighbors heard his cries for help.
Rescuers found him in a ravine near the Dowagiac River north of Niles. It is located on N 5th Street, about a quarter mile south of Losensky Park and Pucker Street.
Rescuers aren't sure how he got there, but say he was found when a neighbor heard him screaming around 1:15a.m.
Niles township fire department used a rope pulley system to pull him from the ravine. It was about 20 feet deep. It took them half an hour to get him out, though they're not sure how long he was there to begin with.
The man was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. His name has not been released.
