A suspect is behind bars in Cass County after reportedly breaking into a barn.

Donald Karn, 56, of Eau Claire faces charges of breaking and entering and obstructing police.

The barn is located in the 32000 block of Frost Street in Pokagon Township, just west of Dowagiac.

Police were called out for the burglary around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night. By the time they got there, the property owner had already scared the burglar away when he caught Karn moving his stuff.

Police searched the area with four-wheelers, and a search dog, finally finding Karn in a field nearby.

He is being held on $10,000 bond.
