GENOA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) Authorities say a 41-year-old Howell-area man was killed when an ambulance struck him in Livingston County while storms were battering the area during the night.

The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell and WHMI-FM report the crash happened around 2 a.m. Monday in Genoa Township, about 35 miles northwest of Detroit.

State police say they believe a Livingston County EMS ambulance was westbound when it hit the man, identified as Patrick T. Billo of Oceola Township.

Police say a bicycle was found at the scene, but it wasn't immediately known if Billo was walking or riding.

The crash is under investigation. Investigators say they don't yet know whether the storm and high winds contributed to the accident.
