Two anonymous donors have pledged $1.1 million to build a new West Michigan shelter for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

Mlive.com says the gifts will support plans of Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters in Ludington.

It says one donor pledged $500,000 directly and $500,000 in a matching grant, while a second donor pledged $100,000.

The group says its plans call for a facility includes six living units that can house about 20 people.
