Michigan police thought it was unusual when they saw a riding lawnmower parked outside a drug store last Friday evening.

Officers saw the mower in front of the Ride Aid in the 42,000 block of Woodward at around 9:45 p.m. and decided to wait and watch for its owner to return.

The owner, Roy Walton of Bloomfield Twp., 47, exited the drug store, got on the mower and began to drive away. Police caught up to Walton and arrested him once they found that he was intoxicated.

Because Walton has prior convictions for drunk driving, he was once again charged with felony OWI.

Walton was released on $25,000 personal bond after his arraignment by video. The lawnmower involved has been impounded.
