Lansing police say an SUV pulled up outside a house party and someone in it opened fire, killing a 16-year-old boy and injuring a 24-year-old.

Police tell the Lansing State Journal the attack happened about 3 a.m. Sunday.

Capt. Mike Yankowski says party-goers were both inside and outside at the time, and the shots were fired at those outside.

He says both of those hit were Lansing residents. He didn't immediately release their names or report any suspects.

Yankowski says there's no evidence so far that the shooting grew out of gang activity.
