Lake Michigan College building new student housing

A local community college is changing the on-campus experience for its students.

Lake Michigan College broke ground on its new student housing this afternoon at the Napier Avenue Campus.

This is the first dorm for the college.

The three story complex will house 180 students.

LMC's president says he hopes this makes even more people consider going there.

“In the 13 years I have been here, this has been the most exciting topic of discussion for community,” said Robert Harrison, President of Lake Michigan College. “We have great expectations that this will change a bit of what our students experience here not only resident students but also our commuters... More activities. Also finishing up new student activities area and gaming area.”
