ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Federal Investigators are coming to the University of Michigan next week as part of a probe into how the Ann Arbor school handles sexual misconduct allegations.

The Michigan Daily reports that the university's Title IX coordinator sent an email Friday to students, faculty and staff announcing the investigators' campus visit.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the representatives of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights will meet with student groups and hold open houses for members of the campus community April 15-17.

The investigation began after federal officials received complaints related to the expulsion of Brendan Gibbons, a former kicker on Michigan's football team.

Gibbons was expelled for violating the school's sexual misconduct policy.

University spokesman Rick Fitzgerald has said Michigan will fully cooperate with the investigation.
