Kalamazoo, Mich. Dozens of people have turned out for a candlelight event to remember a Kalamazoo-area nurse who was fatally shot in her home.

Nancy Kovach was killed inside her Comstock Township home this week, and her husband, John, has been charged with murder. Their two sons were home at the time of the shooting.

The 39-year-old victim was a nurse who worked in hospice and home health care. Co-worker Tonia Spears says "she held the whole place together."

MLive.com reports that a pastor led the crowd in prayer and "Amazing Grace" Thursday night at Bronson Park in Kalamazoo. A pink lantern was released in the sky.
