Firefighters with two departments in Jackson County are wearing pink T-shirts under their fire gear in October to raise money for breast cancer research.

They're also selling pink T-shirts, sweat shirts and crew shirts for the cause.

Union president Tom Loveberry of the Jackson fire department tells the Jackson Citizen Patriot (http://bit.ly/R15yEg) they came up with the idea last year and ended up donating $1,100 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

Meanwhile, Summit Township firefighters donated $2,000 to two U.S. Postal Service workers who were battling cancer.

Loveberry says Jackson firefighters sold out of shirts during August's Relay for Life and were having a new batch printed.
