MANCELONA TOWNSHIP, Mich. Michigan Authorities say they've contained a wildfire that consumed about 10 acres of grassland and woods in the northwestern Lower Peninsula.
The state Department of Natural Resources says the fire started about 1 p.m. Sunday at a site in Antrim County's Mancelona Township, about 30 miles northeast of Traverse City.
Fire supervisor Don Klingler from the DNR's Gaylord office tells the Traverse City Record-Eagle that there's a high risk of fires spreading because of dry conditions and strong winds. He says a quick response allowed the Antrim County fire's containment.
There are no reports of injuries or structure damage.
