DETROIT Three men have been found guilty in a car theft ring where high-end vehicles were stolen at gunpoint.

A federal jury in Detroit earlier this week convicted Frank Harper, Phillip Harper and Bernard Edmond.

Federal officials say that the stolen vehicles were resold to unwitting buyers in Michigan and other states. False documents also were created and filed with Michigan's Secretary of State office.

Vehicles taken included a Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chrysler Aspen and Mercury Milan carjacked on Oct. 14, 2010 from a Detroit nightclub. Four months later, three more high-end vehicles were taken from the valet at another Detroit club.

The Harpers were convicted of conspiracy, carjacking and weapons charges. Edmond was convicted of conspiracy, causing carjackings and other charges.

A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
