Family homeless after Van Buren Co. fire

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. A family of eight has lost everything after an electrical fire Saturday night in Van Buren County.

It happened in the 64000 block of 80th Avenue in Keeler Township.

Investigators arrived on the scene and found a barn fully engulfed.

The family was living in the barn because their home was significantly damaged from a storm last year.

The family, including six children, ranging in age from six to 17, is being assisted by the Red Cross.

No working smoke detectors were found in the home.
