Authorities in Lenawee County are investigating a series of explosions and fire that destroyed one lake-area cottage and damaged three others.
The Daily Telegram of Adrian reports Friday that no one was injured in the Thursday night blasts near Devils Lake in Woodstock Township, about 70 miles southwest of Detroit.
Addison Fire Chief Tim Shaw says there were at least three explosions Thursday night and that 55 firefighters from a number of nearby departments were called in to fight the ensuing blaze. The cause of the explosions initially was blamed on a gas leak.
High school senior Dakota Keenoy says the explosions "sounded like fireworks at first" and that he and another person looked to see if anyone needed help.
