Pet Fest offers fun activities for pets and their owners

ELKHART COUNTY There are thousands of homeless pets in Michiana, and this weekend, the Humane Society of Elkhart County is bringing awareness to the need for good homes with Pet Fest.

The event runs from 11a.m. – 2p.m. on Saturday at the Humane Society of Elkhart County, located at 54687 County Road 19 in Bristol. Saturday is also National Homeless Pet Day.

The day includes fun events for you to do with your pets – things like pet costume contests, and even a special class on doing yoga with your dog, called “Doga.”

There will also be a special deal on pet adoptions, where if you adopt an animal, you can bring home a companion animal at no cost.
