Tuesday, Michigan officials will meet to consider an emergency loan request for the city of Benton Harbor.

City Emergency Manager Tony Saunders is asking for the $2.3 million loan despite opposition from city commissioners who have voted against the measure twice.

However, as EFM, Saunders does not need their permission to move forward with the loan.

Michigan's local Emergency Financial Assistance Loan Board will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in Lansing.
