A young driver, distracted by his cell phone, is in the hospital after rolling his car several times.
The Cass County Sheriffs Department responded to the incident, which happened Sunday night around 11:00 on Okeefe Road, just north of Shurte Street. That is in Lagrange Township.
The driver is 23-year-old Efrain Soto from Hartford, MI. He reported that he was traveling north on Okeefe Road when he got distracted by his cell phone, ran off the road and overturned his vehicle several times. He was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial for treatment of his injuries.
Cass Fire and Life Care Ambulance and Cassopolis Police Department assisted deputies at the scene.
Seat belts were not worn at the time of the crash, and the incident is still under investigation.
