DETROIT (AP) - A bankruptcy judge will hear arguments from lawyers for Michigan and for Detroit municipal unions on whether Gov. Rick Snyder and two top aides must give the names of those who were candidates to become the city's emergency manager.

The hearing is scheduled Tuesday morning in Detroit. Snyder's deposition is Wednesday in Lansing, while state Treasurer Andy Dillon and Snyder adviser Richard Baird will be questioned Thursday.

In a motion last week, the state said disclosing the candidates' names would violate their privacy and could damage the current jobs of some because their employers are unaware of their interest in the job.

The state hired bankruptcy attorney Kevyn Orr in March. Orr made Detroit the largest U.S. city to seek court protection when he filed for bankruptcy in July.
