DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit pastor has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence involving his estranged wife.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says the Rev. Horace Sheffield III was arraigned Thursday and released on a personal bond. He also is charged with preventing a crime report.
His pretrial hearing is Feb. 21.
The charges stem from a Jan. 10 incident between Sheffield and DiAnna Solomon at their Detroit home.
Both tell The Associated Press Thursday that they are in the midst of a divorce.
Solomon referred further questions to her attorney.
Sheffield spokesman Adolph Mongo says Solomon and Sheffield struggled over a cellphone when she returned to retrieve some belongings.
Sheffield is pastor of New Destiny Christian Fellowship Church. Solomon operates a public relations firm.
