A 39-year-old old man has been arraigned in the robbery and shooting death of a cab driver in Detroit.
William Heard was ordered held without bond Thursday following his video appearance in Detroit's 36th District Court on open murder, assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, carjacking and gun charges.
A not guilty plea was entered for Heard of Detroit. A preliminary examination has been scheduled for Jan. 17.
The Associated Press was unable Thursday to determine if Heard has a lawyer.
Tyrone Hitchcock was killed Jan. 3 and a 46-year-old woman in his cab was wounded.
Cab drivers have been robbery targets recently in Detroit. One was killed in September and another was fatally shot in October.
