A 14-year-old boy has pleaded guilty in the slaying of his 36-year-old mother in their Detroit home.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Joshua Smith entered his plea Monday to second-degree murder. Smith was charged as an adult and will be sentenced Oct. 26 to 25 to 50 years in prison.
Tamiko Robinson was killed Feb. 27 while she was on a sofa inside. Police say the shooting following an argument.
In a statement to police, Smith said he was tired of being called names. His stepfather's shotgun was used to kill Robinson.
