Congressman Fred Upton met with area businesses on Monday to discuss issues critical to the economy.
Upton visited the Business Center of Southwest Michigan for a tour of the 617,000 square foot facility.
The century-old building currently houses 20 businesses and employs around 50 people.
The business incubator includes a wide range of industries – everything from manufacturing to dance.
“There's not a time frame when you construct your business get it up and running, so we want to construct a business here so we can keep the jobs here as well,” said Brian DeLong.
DeLong says he hopes businesses will utilize more of the industrial space in the building in the next five years.
