A 27-year-old Marine from West Michigan has been killed during combat operations in Afghanistan.
The Defense Department says Monday that Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Price from Holland was one of two soldiers slain in Badghis province. Price and 34-year-old Gunnery Sgt. Jonathan W. Gifford of Palm Bay, Fla., died Sunday.
Price was assigned to the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Gifford was assigned to the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
