Wes Leonard's class at Michigan's Fennville High School holds its graduation ceremony Thursday night.

Leonard collapsed and died last year immediately after making the winning shot in a basketball game. His death last March 3th drew national attention to Fennville, a town of about 1,400 not far from Lake Michigan and some 200 miles west of Detroit. A medical examiner determined Leonard had sudden cardiac arrest due to an enlarged heart.

Jocelyn Leonard, his mother, says this has been a difficult week, but her son's classmates are planning to honor him.

One of Wes Leonard's friends had planned to walk with him at graduation. She'll instead be accompanied by Leonard's younger brother.
