MARSHALL, CO., Ind.--- The Civil Air Patrol is on the hunt for a very important pink balloon that disappeared in Marshall County.

It was launched by the Youth Cadets of the Fox Valley Composite Squadron out of West Chicago.

They had hopes of breaking a high-flying record but the device disappeared northwest of Plymouth just 4400 feet from the record.

The civil air patrol is now using it for search and rescue training.

Residents are asked to check their backyards and call the squadron at 1-877-308-5665 if they find the balloon.

Squadron ground team members may also ask permission to search your property.
