City by City report for April 8, 2014

Here's a recap of your City by City report for April 8, 2014:

Milford
Another freeze warning has been lifted. All of Michiana is thawing out, and if you live in Milford, the threat of frozen pipes is gone. That means if you have been running a faucet all winter, you can turn it off now. Most other communities have lifted their freeze warnings as well, but if you're not sure, check with your utility company.

Goshen
The man who has led Goshen College Maple Leafs soccer for 13 years is moving on. The Elkhart Truth reports that Tavi Mounsithiraj has the second most wins in program history, with 123 victories. Goshen College is already looking for his replacement.

Benton Harbor
There are a lot of trash items that can be hard to get rid of correctly - things like chemicals, batteries, medical products. This week Lake Michigan College is helping with the task. Their annual Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Day"is Wednesday at the Benton Township campus. They'll take electronics too, but there is a $5 fee for old computer monitors, and a $10 fee for old tube TV’s. The event runs from 3 to 7p.m.

A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member is coming to Benton Harbor. George Clintin will headline a concert series during the week of the Senior PGA Championship. The concert will take place at the City Center Park downtown. It all kicks off May 21st.

Warsaw
Expect sirens to sound again in Warsaw on Wednesday. The Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory will conduct a tornado siren test. The goal is to make sure all warning devices are working properly. They typically sound three one-minute blasts.

South Bend
The numbers are in! Students at IU South Bend saw more than 60 patients at their free sealant clinic over the weekend. 341 sealants were placed, with an average of six sealants per patient. The sealant clinic was a way for IU South Bend students to gain hands-on experience in their fields, plus a chance to provide service to community members.
