A church in Niles is about to get a multi-million dollar makeover, to make room for a quickly growing congregation. According to Leader Publications, Hope Community Church opened 15 years ago with just 9 members. Now they have more than 600, and they are spending $2.1 million to update the steel-sided structure. A groundbreaking ceremony is set for 3p.m. Sunday. Construction will take about 9 months.
Blackthorn Golf Club is asking for volunteers to help out with the Four Winds Invitational this June. Each volunteer must pay $25 to cover the tournament polo, lunch, drinks, and a round of golf at the club. Volunteers must dedicate at least 9 hours to the event. The tournament runs June 20-22. A Michiana farmer's market needs your help! According to Leader Publications, the Buchanan market is seeking vendors for its 9th season. The market opens May 3 and runs through October 18. Vendors can choose their duration – a week, two weeks or entire season. For more information, call organizers at 269-506-3021.
All of the city's water department customers can stop streaming their water. Frozen pipes have finally thawed out. Department officials tell WKVI the last of the leaks have been repaired too. The city adjusted bills for anyone who left their water running.
Grab the kids. It's time to hunt for eggs! The Kosciusko County Community Easter Egg Hunt is set for this weekend. It's a free event held at the county fair grounds. There are special egg hunts for different age groups. The Easter bunny will also be there, so bring your camera to get pictures!
