“Celebrate Service” is the theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week, running April 21 through the 27. The week is about honoring the millions of people across the country that dedicate themselves to helping their local communities, it also aims at encouraging more people to get involved in volunteering.

About 94-percent of the American Red Cross is made up of volunteers, which equates to roughly half a million individuals carrying out the organization’s humanitarian mission.

This week, the Red Cross is hosting blood drives in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties.
