Man injured when car crashes into 'Welcome to Michigan' sign

Authorities say a southwestern Michigan man has received hospital treatment for injuries he sustained when he hit a "Welcome to Michigan" sign on his return from Indiana.

PORTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. Authorities say a southwestern Michigan man has received hospital treatment for injuries he sustained when he hit a "Welcome to Michigan" sign on his return from Indiana.

The Cass County sheriff's department says 50-year-old Brad Martin of Vandalia was northbound Friday afternoon when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the sign along Michigan 217 in Porter Township.

MLive.com reports that he was treated at Elkhart General Hospital in Indiana and released.

The sheriff's department says the crash remains under investigation.
