Car barrels into home in Hartford Township

A man was cut out of his vehicle after it went barreling into a home in Van Buren County. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 5400 block of 60th Street in Hartford Township.

The driver reportedly lost control of his Chevrolet Blazer, left the roadway and hit the home.

Officers believe the vehicle also caught fire at some point.

The driver, who has not been identified, was pulled out of the car with the jaws of life. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Speed and alcohol are both believed to be factors in the crash. The walls and foundation of the home were severely damaged.

No charges have been filed in the crash. Police say speed and alcohol were both factors. The investigation is ongoing.
