Detroit police say an 11-year-old boy has drowned after he and his 8-year-old brother got into an unattended swimming pool at a municipal recreation center.
Police spokesman Sgt. Alan Quinn says the drowning happened Saturday afternoon at the pool now operated by Little Rock Baptist Church.
Quinn tells the Detroit Free Press the building was "supposed to be closed" and no lifeguard was on duty.
The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.
The building now is called the Considine Little Rock Family Life, Education and Recreation Center.
