Benton Harbor firemen are staging a benefit to support one of their own, who was badly injured on the job.
Lieutenant Doug Bell was trying to put out a blaze inside a home in the one-thousand block of Jennings Avenue last week. He was badly burned in the fire, and treated at a Kalamazoo hospital.
His road to recovery is going to be a tough one, and his fellow firefighters are trying to help.
WSJM reports that the department will host a pancake breakfast to raise money to care for Bell's family while he's out of work. Bell himself may even Skype in to the event, which will also feature several raffles.
The breakfast will be held at Station 2 on Coloma Road in Hagar Township this Saturday.
