An autopsy has determined that a 55-year-old Troy father who authorities say was murdered by his son died from multiple blows to his head.
The Oakland County medical examiner's office said Monday that Patrick Mikes' death was a homicide.
Mikes' body was found Friday near Montrose in Genesee County.
Twenty-one-year-old Patrick Mikes Jr. pleaded not guilty Thursday during his arraignment on open murder charges and remains jailed pending an Aug. 27 court hearing.
Authorities say they believe Mikes was killed in his basement. His two sons said he left on his bike July 27 and reported him missing July 29.
Police previously said they recovered the victim's blood and DNA in the family's home. They say the victim's vehicle was used to transport and dispose of his body.
