KALAMZOO, Mich. KALAMZOO, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a weekend shooting at a house party near the campus of Western Michigan University left one person wounded.
The Kalamazoo Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/16BuoRY ) police responded early Sunday to the shooting in Kalamazoo at a fraternity house.
Police say a 20-year-old Kalamazoo man was shot in the leg. Police say a 20-year-old woman also suffered a back injury, possibly from being hit with flying glass.
Western Michigan University spokeswoman Cheryl Roland says Monday the shooting happened after fraternity members turned away some uninvited guests. She says neither of those injured in the incident were students at the university.
Clint Parker, a student who lives nearby, says he heard gunshots and estimated that he saw more than 100 people run out of the house.
The shooting is under investigation.
