Some people in Grand Rapids are looking at a 30-year-old photo and asking: Is that me?
In 1981, The Grand Rapids Press took a picture of people watching a motorcade on Bridge Street as international dignitaries arrived for the opening of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.
Now, an artist has drawn that same photo, and it's being displayed on a poster promoting an annual Grand Rapids festival.
Artist Scott LaPorte autographed posters Friday at the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
He met and shook hands with people who were in the picture, including area residents Deb Pease and Joanne Meyering.
Pease says it wasn't a great neighborhood but it was a "good spot" for a
parade.
