A frightening moment came when a man was stopped at gunpoint and robbed in Benton Harbor Wednesday night.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Lavette and Clay Street.
The victim, Lamont Hankins, was robbed by an unknown masked man.
The attacker reached into Hankins’ pocket, stole $42 and then fled the scene on foot. Benton Harbor police found the suspect a block away on Empire and Pavone.
He immediately fled. Fortunately, police quickly caught up to Ryan Board Jr., 19.
Police found a fully loaded 22 caliber revolver, a mask and $42 on his person.
Board was lodged in the Berrien County Jail on five charges.
